Dbanj is the Hot Artist rocking our office stereo this month. We cant get enough of this one!! But the songs have split hot babes as we cannot agree on what song should be at the top of the list.

Well I'm writing this blog today and my top three choices are:

Top 3 tracks

  1. Tono sibe

  2. Loke

  3. Why Me

I cannot even begin to start writing the lyrics to Tono Sibe cause I don't have a clue what he is singing about but I love it, the song is seriously addictive.

Dbanj was nominated for Best African act, at the MOBOs this year but lost to stiff competitor 2face Idibia. We reckon he can grab the title off 2face next year if he keeps this up. So our msg to you DBanj is 'Stay HOT with the music!'

'If I Knew You Were Coming I'd have Baked a Cake!'

Courtesy of Martha Stewart living, The last of the summer cake recipe we can all try and recreate at home, fingers crossed it will look just as good!

Peaches-and-Cream Ice Cream Cake
For layers with a colorful contrast, use two different varieties of peach sorbet.
Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened, plus more for pan
1 1/2 cups cake flour, not self-rising
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs, separated
1/2 cup buttermilk
Vegetable-oil cooking spray
1 1/2 pints vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
1 1/2 pounds ripe peaches, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (about 2 1/4 cups)
2 pints peach sorbet, slightly softened

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8-by-12-inch cake pan, and line with parchment paper. Butter parchment; set aside. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl; set aside.

Put butter and 3/4 cup sugar into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment; mix on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Mix in egg yolks. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the buttermilk. Transfer batter to a medium bowl; set aside.

Put egg whites into the clean bowl of mixer fitted with the whisk attachment; beat on medium-high speed until foamy. Gradually add remaining 1/3 cup sugar, beating until soft peaks form. Gently fold half of egg-white mixture into batter with a rubber spatula. Fold in remaining egg white mixture. Transfer to prepared pan.

Bake until light golden and a cake tester inserted into center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool a wire rack 15 minutes. Invert onto rack; remove parchment. Let cool completely. Trim cake to 10 by 5 inches. Cake can be refrigerated, wrapped in plastic, up to 1 day.

Coat a 10-by-5-inch loaf pan with cooking cooking spray; line with parchment, allowing a 1-inch overhang on long sides. Coat parchment with cooking spray. Line with plastic wrap, allowing a 3-inch overhang.

Stir ice cream and peaches in a medium bowl; spread into prepared pan. Freeze until firm, about 2 hours. Spread 1 pint sorbet over ice cream; freeze until firm, about 1 hour. Spread with remaining pint sorbet; top with cake.

Cover with plastic overhang. Freeze until firm, at least 2 hours or up to 4 days.

To loosen cake from pan, wrap a damp, hot towel around pan. Lift out. Serve immediately.

Thanks Martha

"Looking So Hot!'

Say it! Philosophy. This products is truly amazing! After being fully engrossed in another episode of Oprah's Favorite Things... You know the one? Well that's when we discovered this delightful product.

We didn't exactly go out there and buy it immediately, no not until a good friend of ours recommended it to us.

It was one of those occasions, a typical girly night out, talking about randoms over dinner, complimenting each other, you know how it goes... Wondering whats Hot and whats not. This particular friend of ours skin is glowing and absolutely radiant so we ask what she uses and she tells us Philosoply! She then gives us an insight into the product and claims the whole procedure isn't time consuming at all and that it's as easy as A,B, C.

As Much as we are Hot(sigh), we don't particularly use time consuming things... Its all Natural you see!

Anyways, Ok, so we had to try it out for ourselves. As they say, "Seeing is believing" right?

Guys!! This product is Hot Hot Hot and will not let you down, we promise!

Philosophy beliefs

"the best foundation you will ever own is your own radiant complexion—and thanks to their next-generation skincare collection, wearing makeup is an option instead of a requirement. With years of medical research under their beauty-full belt, the line has created skincare treatments—comparable to those found in top plastic surgery and dermatology practices—that reveal radiantly clear, beautifully bright, and impeccably smooth skin."

'Read All About It'

Vanity Fair magazine has come up with the best magazine covers we've seen in awhile. For their July 2007 issue cover, they have photographed faces of very famous people in America and the only thing these people have in common with each other is their passion for Africa.

Photography was done by the best of course and a regular photographer for Vanity Fair magazines, Annie Leibovitz.

With a selection of 20 different covers to choose from, this issue is a dedication to Africa and Africans.
Guest Editor and activist Bono, from U2, is Pictured on the magazine cover we have choosen for our blog. Bono's inspiration is to show people the adventures of Africa.

The issue sheds light on Africa's unique economic and cultural diversity.

It's content is a compilation of story telling and film productions in the making by Danny Glover; Exquisite and amazing photography shots which brings out the beauty in every single subject; Exclusive interviews such as Madonna's trips to Malawi; Miracle drugs for aids; Geography and Music.

Quote from Bono
"To change the world we need consumer power; idealists and activists alone will not get the job done." "(Red) is a gateway drug into a bigger movement."

Red Products.

Remember the clothings sold at Gap: the red iPod etc.. The idea behind Red Products was quite simple. Basically participating companies, which so far include American Express, Apple, Armani, Gap, Motorola, and Converse (a subsidiary of Nike), sell (Red)-branded products and 40% of the gross profits from the sale goes to providing free ARVs to Africans with Aids. Isn't that fantastic!

God Bless you Bono!

Go pick one up if you haven't already, they've been on the magazine racks for over a week now, so 3 more weeks to go. Please Show Your Support!

Cheers
